Rabbi Jana plans to choose a different book each month and have lunchtime sessions during which we can discuss the books. Even if you don't read the book before class, you can gain from the insights in the book and the discussions.
The Adventures of Rabbi Harvey are found in three books (so far). Rabbi Jana will be discussing the first book during the book discussion sessions in April. Some of the most clever tales and riddles from Jewish tradition -- mostly the Midrash stories from Talmud -- are presented in a very clever graphic novel format (like a comic book). The stories are based around Rabbi Harvey, who was a fictional Rabbi in the “Wild West.” The books weave the old stories from the Talmud into Rabbi Harvey’s world.
We will be discussing the first book in the series, but all three of the books are available to purchase in the B’nai Zion.
